Although it’s not always a simple process, healing and personal growth are key to creating a healthier and more satisfying life. Whether you’re seeking assistance with individual, childhood, or family stressors, our team has the education, training, and expertise to help you discover the most effective plan to achieve your goals.

Therapy for Individuals*

Our clinical staff utilizes therapeutic modalities that have been empirically proven to be both ethical and effective. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), among others. Our intake coordinator will match you with the most appropriate provider to meet your needs. We will help you identify specific, measurable goals and, once met, strategies to maintain them. Sometimes, the most difficult step is the first one–reaching out for help. Contact us today. We can help.

Therapy for Children*

When our children are struggling, it is not always easy to know what they need. If your child needs help with their emotions or behavior, it is important to find a professional who appreciates the necessary components to growth and change and who, most importantly, can connect. After all, children are not just “little adults,” and understanding the impact of trauma and normal developmental stages on their functioning is essential. Our therapists will work with you and your child to navigate these stages most effectively. Our clinicians include prior adolescent and special needs teachers and providers with specialized training in child therapy and play therapy. We have helped children deal with neglect, loss, and abuse as well as the stress associated with life transitions**, misbehavior, identity issues, and adolescent development. Because we have been helping the community for decades, we have had the pleasure of former child clients returning to visit to share just how much they have grown and achieved.

** Our child therapists are not trained in child custody evaluation and will not provide legal recommendations regarding custody nor visitation.

Foundations Screening Assessments

To ensure that every child receives the most appropriate and effective care, all referrals for behavioral concerns involving children under the age of 12 will begin with our Foundations Screening Assessment. This comprehensive process helps us understand each child’s unique needs by gathering information about emotional, behavioral, academic, sensory, and social functioning. The results guide our recommendations and ensure that any interventions, referrals, or therapy approaches are tailored to give your child the best chance for success.

Therapy for Couples and Families*

Therapy isn’t about pointing fingers or calling someone the hero or villain in a relationship. It’s more like investigating what’s going wrong, understanding how people act, and seeing how everyone can work together to improve things. Therapists don’t play the blame game; they help everyone figure out their part in making the relationship better. It’s like unraveling a story where everyone has a role, with the goal of making the whole plot work out well in the end.

“I’m less interested in finding out who the ‘ogre’ and ‘saint’ is in a relationship. I’m much more interested in figuring out what the problem is, what the patterns of interaction are around that problem, and what role each person plays in making their relationship work better.”
Todd Hanson, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Therapy for Crime Victims*

If you or someone you love has been the victim of a crime, you know the pain and isolation. You may worry that it will happen again. You may be afraid of leaving the house. You may think that the feelings of fear, anger and sadness will never end. We can help you and your family begin the recovery process. Using empirically-proven treatment modalities such Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), we can guide you to finding your “new normal” after a victimization or loss due to crime. We are also familiar with the systems and processes involved in being a victim of crime, allowing us to offer a greater level of support to those involved with the criminal justice and legal systems. Post Trauma Resources provides practical help that works. We’ll help you manage intrusive memories and anxiety so you can find freedom from the fear that holds you back. Our counselors are specialized in trauma recovery, and both male and female therapists are available.

Therapy for First Responders and their Families*

FLOW is South Carolina’s first resiliency-based wellness program, created by a former first responder to meet the unique needs of first responders. Traditional first responder programs focus primarily on the impact of critical incidents. FLOW is available to personnel and their immediate family members to provide support in every aspect of a first responder’s life. Relationship issues, past trauma or abuse, problems with anger or conflict resolution, and mental health challenges can negatively affect job performance, longevity, and satisfaction. FLOW was created to minimize the impact of these stressors on you and your family. FLOW participation is free for the personnel and family members of participating agencies. All FLOW services are confidential — your agency will not know that you are participating unless you choose to tell them.
